VISIBLE LIGHT METER (LUX METER)
Product Details.
Visible Light Meter (Lux Meter) is a portable precision instrument designed to measure the intensity of visible light in an inspection or working environment. It measures illuminance in lux (lx) and, depending on the model, may also provide readings in foot-candles (fc).
In Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), a visible light meter is used to monitor ambient lighting conditions during Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI). Measuring visible light helps ensure that inspection areas maintain suitable lighting conditions for clear observation of fluorescent indications.
The meter uses a light-sensitive sensor, typically a photodiode with an optical response designed for visible-light measurement. The sensor detects incident light and converts it into an electrical signal that is processed and displayed as an illuminance value.
With its portable design and easy-to-read digital display, the Visible Light Meter is suitable for NDT laboratories, inspection areas, manufacturing facilities, workshops, workplaces, and general lighting surveys. Regular light-level measurement can also help maintain consistent inspection conditions and support quality-control procedures.
